Description: Join us Saturday, May 12, 2018, for the 1st Annual JP Community Craft & Yard Sale. This event will include crafters, yard salers, food trucks and vendors from Southwest Boston and beyond. There will be music, activities for kids and much more.

Admission is free and exhibit space is on $30-$60.

Proceeds from the JP Community Craft & Yard Sale will benefit Ethos' JP@Home program which helps older adults remain in their own homes, for as long as possible, without the need for institutional care.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Who can exhibit at the Craft & Yard Sale?
A: Artisans, vendors of jewelry, art, decor, fashion, accessories, food purveyors and Jamaica Plain residents who want yard sale space.

Q: Is it a Juried Event?
A: No

Q: Will there be designated security--such as a detail officer or security guard?
A: There will not be any designated security however, there will be plenty of staff and volunteers in clearly marked shirts to assist vendors.

Q: What will the setup be? Will artisans be situated next to people selling typical yard sale/household and clothing items
A: The event set-up has been designed to allow all participants and vendors a quality experience. Artisans and Crafters will be grouped together. Similarly, food vendors and yard salers will be grouped according to their respective categories. See attached site plan.

Q: Will you allow many duplicate vendors. (I sell soap....will there be several others who sell similar products?)
A: We do not have any rules or restrictions on duplicate vendors however, the list of invitees to exhibit was carefully curated to include a wide variety of artisans and crafters.

Q: How many vendors in total are you planning to have?
A: The JP Community Craft & Yard Sale can accommodate up to 90 vendors, with a provision to add an additional 20 vendors if deemed necessary.

Q: How many years has this event been running?
A: 2018 will be the JP Community Craft & Yard Sale's first year in operation.

Q: How much does it cost to exhibit at the JP Community Craft & Yard Sale?
A: $60 for food and beverage vendors; $50 for Arts & Craft vendors, $30 for Yard Sale vendors (you must be a Jamaica Plain Resident for a yard sale space), and $40 for community groups. Each space is approximately 10'x10'. The fee is for space only; vendors provide their own table, chairs, display, tent, etc. Tables are available for rental when ordered at registration. Vendors who use a tent/canopy for outdoor use are required to use tent/canopy weights and comply with our Rules for Canopy Safety.

Q: How many vendors in total are you planning to have?
A: The JP Community Craft & Yard Sale can accommodate up to 90 vendors, with a provision to add an additional 20 if necessary.

Q: When can I set up and break down?
A: Vendors may set up as early as 8:00 am on the morning of May 12. Vendors are expected to have their booths set up and ready for operation by 10:00 AM. Any vendor who arrives after 10:00 AM may be denied entry and will forfeit their space and fee. Vendors are expected to stay until 5:00 PM and must clear their space of all items no later than 6:30 pm. Vendors may not leave behind any trash or items in their space.

Q: What is your weather policy?
A: We make no guarantee for weather. This event will take place rain or shine.

Q: Do I have to accept credit cards?
A: Credit cards are not required, but many vendors find accepting credit cards increases sales opportunities.

Q: What are the requirements for food vendors?
A: Food vendors must provide all applicable requirements--licensing/certification/insurance. Food vendors bear all responsibility for keeping their licensing up to date. The JP Community Craft & Yard Sale does not provide assistance with obtaining these documents.

Q: Will there be parking available for vendors?
A: Vendor parking will be available on a first come, first served basis, in Ethos' South lot.

Q: Are musicians allowed?
A: There will be music over a PA system however, we welcome local musicians to play unplugged (no electricity) for patrons and visitors for merchandise and tips. Fill out the registration form below and select the "musician/band" for category.

Q: Are there any requirements for tents?
A: Tent weights of a minimum of 40lbs per leg of tent is mandatory to ensure the safety of our customers and fellow vendors.

Q: Are there any other rules or regulations?
A: Yes. The JP Community Craft and Yard Sale strictly prohibits:
• Alcohol on the premises.
• Sale of pets or live animals of any sort
• Merchandise bearing counterfeit trademarks or merchandise that infringes on copyrighted designs or materials.
• Firearms, ammunition, flammables, explosives, fireworks, or other dangerous items.
• Knives or weaponry, mace-like products, pepper spray, and any other harmful items.
• Pornographic or adult-themed merchandise.
• Drug-related paraphernalia.
• Games of chance, raffles, or lotteries.
• Fortune telling, palm reading, biorhythms, spiritual counseling, handwriting analysis.
• Excessive noise that may disturb other Vendors or Shoppers such as loud music, shouting, or music with inappropriate lyrics.
