| Description: | Berkshire County is one of New Englands cultural, historic and artistic hot spots, with a wide range of museums, venues and opportunities that draws not only tourism, but relocation as well. Because of its reputation and ideal location just 2 ½ hours from both Boston and New York city, we have been working to organize an open market that would allow vendors to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Berkshires year round. Located in Lenox, Ma, The Berkshire Open Market venue will offer vendors an opportunity to rent a space that maintains the feel of an open air market but requires no tent, provides electricity, has four season capabilities, is ideally located and offers spectacularly landscaped views, all at a reasonable price. You will have the flexibility to come as often or infrequently as you like and even rent a regular booth space if desired. We are creating more than just a market. The Berkshire Open market will be a weekly event that brings together artisans, farmers, tourists and the community to help promote and grow small businesses and farms. We are now in the final stages of arranging the markets opening dates and would like to invite you to a meeting where you will have the opportunity to meet with us, and the owners, to hear our plan, tour the location and let us know how we can make this market the best it can be for you. The meeting will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday July 12th at Aspinwell located at 55 Pittsfield Road / Route 7 in Lenox, Ma. Our goal is to gain insight from you as to what would make this market the ideal place to promote and grow your small business. | Event/Application Rules and Regulations | ||
| All Vendors Must arrive at designated set-up time. Must unload all equipment and move vehicle prior to setting up booth. Must park in designated vendor parking area. Are responsible for providing their own tables, chairs and displays. Must display company name at booth. Must possess a Massachusetts tax identification number. Must collect taxes from customers during the sale of tangible products. The method of tax collection is at the discretion of the vendor. Must have proof of liability insurance if applicable. Must possess food safety, sanitation, and/or health permits if applicable. Must keep booth and surrounding area free of litter. Must bring all grievances, including those with other vendors, directly to the market manager or director on duty. Grievances should never be directed to market vendors or customers. Must be checked out by market staff prior to leaving. May not smoke within 100 feet of the main building or near any outdoor booths. May bring pets as long as they are supervised at all times, are well behaved, on a leash and cleaned up after. Booth Requirements Tables must be covered all the way to the ground. All storage containers must be kept out of sight. Table top displays should be leveled rather than flat on the table. (displaying items at different levels rather than flat on a table draws the interest of shoppers) Company/Artisan name must be displayed. All displays must be sturdy and are subject to inspection by market director. Booth must stay completely set-up until 6:00 pm unless arranged prior to the day of the market. | ||
