| Description: | 18th Annual TomorrowNite Gala Benefits the Children of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital® Honored Guest Performer, Berklee College of Music Student and Former St. Jude Patient WHAT: TomorrowNite 2009 A Night of Hope gala will benefit St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital®. The event will be held for the first time in the elegant Mandarin Oriental, Boston, where Asian blossoms will be in full bloom. This years theme of hope is especially relevant in this economic downturn where the spirit of giving is more critical than ever. It is estimated that more than 160,000 new cases of childhood cancer will be diagnosed worldwide in the coming year. Special features include a piano performance be a former St. Jude patient who is also a student at Berklee College of Music. The evening will include gourmet dining, dancing with the Rollins Ross and Soul Source Band, and a silent auction featuring sports events, spa getaways, and major artwork. Known as the hospitals premier fundraiser for the region, the Boston-based event has raised nearly $5 million over the past seventeen years. For more information, visit www.stjude.org/tomorrownite HIGHLIGHTS: 7NEWS Anchor Frances Rivera returns as Emcee for the 8th year Anne Tamer Hajjar, of Milton, is Event Chair John Alston, a Berklee College of Music student and St. Jude cancer survivor, will perform. At the age of 17, John was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. His last treatment was in April 2006. He entered Berklee College of Music just last year, January 2008, fulfilling a dream to study classical music. Those who hear John perform say "he plays the piano like a dream and moves audience to tears." Early auction items include an original Lego Sculpture by artist Nathan Sawaya; autographed scrubs from the cast of "ER; tickets to attend tapings of "The Colbert Report" and the new "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon; hotel getaways; fine dining and shopping; a fur from Dino International Furs; a gift certificate to Kleinfield, Manhattan, world-famous bridal salon; and one-of-a-kind autographed Red Sox memorabilia ST.
